Terms and Conditions for That's Life! 'Win a Carnival for your school' promotion
1. Instructions on how to enter form part of these conditions of entry.
2. The prize's are as stated and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash (with the exception of those components listed as being a 'cash donation').
3. This competition is open to New Zealand residents only, except employees of Pacific Magazines and participating companies and their immediate families and agencies.
4. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
5. The promotional period is for That's Life! cover dates 10th May 2010 to 14th June 2010, with the closing date for entries being 12 noon on Friday 2nd July 2010.
6. There will be two winning entries - one from each of the following categories:

- Category 1 - educational institution with more than 100 pupils
- Category 2 - educational institution with less than 100 pupils
7. The winning entry from each of the above categories will be determined based on the number of tokens collected by, for or on behalf of each institution over the promotional period. Entrants are required to count the tokens first and write the total number on the entry form, available online at www.pacificmags.co.nz/pages/news, in issue on sale 7th June inside the magazine, or by calling (09) 979 2708. Tokens will then be recounted upon receipt by Pacific Magazines, and a 'winning entry' for each category declared.
8. The educational institution with more than 100 pupils that collects the most tokens shall be declared the Category 1 winning entry. This educational institution will win a $2,000 cash donation plus the following carnival event: elements of a carnival (agreed on by both parties) which add up to $6,000 (including $1,000 worth of That's Life magazines) and may include (but not limited to) a bouncy castle, ice cream van (with tab), donkey rides, mini Ferris Wheel, candyfloss machine (with tab), clown, balloon artist, face painting, sound system, spinning prize wheel with prizes, lolly scramble and decorations. The carnival event is to be held on a date and location agreed to by both the winning entry and Pacific Magazines, and must be held between 2nd August 2010 and 31st December 2010.
9. The educational institution with less than 100 pupils that collects the most tokens shall be declared the Category 2 winning entry. This educational institution will win a $1,000 cash donation plus a morning tea event at their educational institution. The morning tea event will consist of food, beverages and appliances to create food and magazines provided by Pacific Magazines. The 'morning tea event' is to be held on a date agreed to by both the winning entry and Pacific Magazines, and must be held between 2nd August 2010 and 31st December 2010.
10. All entries can choose to enter the main prize of the $5,000 carnival and $2,000 donation however if an educational institution has under 100 pupils based on the school roll as at 1st February 2010 they are eligible to enter the morning tea and $1,000 donation category, only one category per institution may be entered into.
11. The winning entry from both categories is responsible for promoting their event, gaining permission from all relevant parties to host the event, as well as the safety and security of those who attend the event.
12. Each valid entry must complete an entry form in full, including a signature and contact details of the school principal or head of the educational institution, confirming acceptance of terms & conditions and participation in the competition. Failure to do so may cause the entry to be declared ineligible. Entry forms must also be accompanied by tokens collected during the promotional period.
13. Photocopied tokens will not be accepted.
14. The promoter is: Pacific Magazines NZ Ltd, 23 Union Street, Auckland 1010, New Zealand and accepts no responsibility for entries lost, stolen, misdirected, damaged, delayed or incomplete.
15. Neither Pacific Magazines nor any other person or party associated with the Competition shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including, but not limited to, direct, indirect and/or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with either participation in the Competition or with the Prize or any part of it.
16.Both Prizes do not include the cost of travel, insurance, items of a personal nature or those not related to the morning tea or carnival.
17. Both winning entries agree that up to five employees of Pacific Magazines will be present at each event to help organise, and these Pacific Magazines employees may photograph the event for editorial use. The two winning entries will be featured in a future issue of That's Life! magazine. Photos taken at the events will appear in That's Life! magazine, including images of those attending the events. It is the responsibility of the winning entries to make those attending the events, or their guardians, aware of this.
18. Free subscriptions will be allocated to educational institutions determined on the number of tokens collected; this may be used by the establishment how they wish. Those with over official 2,000 tokens will receive a 12 month subscription to That's Life! magazine, 1,500 to 1,999 tokens will receive a six month subscription, 500 to 1,499 tokens will receive a three month subscription and 0 to 499 tokens will receive a free one month subscription.
